  • 2024 Slow & Low: Chicago Lowrider Festival Waivers, rules, & regulations

    APPROVAL: All Exhibitors/Entrants are subject to approval by Slow & Low: Chicago Lowrider Festival organizers and must pass final inspection at the door determined in their sole and absolute discretion. Pre-registration must complete an application and pay entry fees before the deadline date. Slow & Low: Chicago Lowrider Festival reserves the right to refuse any entry not deemed appropriate by it in its sole and absolute discretion. NO IN/OUT PRIVILEGES.

    ENTRY FEES:

    Vehicle (car, van, truck) Registration fee is $65.00/each

    Motorcycles $65.00/each

    Bicycles $45.00/each

    Pedal Cars $25.00/each

    A modest PayPal processing fee will be added to your payment invoices.

    No refunds for no-shows.

    ENTRY PASSES:

    Vehicle Registration (car, truck, van): Includes two (2) entrance tickets per Exhibitor Application

    Bicycle, Motorcycle Registration: Includes two (2) entrance tickets per Exhibitor Application

    Pedal Car Only Registration includes one (1) entrance ticket per Exhibitor Application

    Additional Entrance Tickets: Purchase via www.navypier.org. Slow&Low does not receive any entrance ticket revenue.

    FEES: Entry/Exhibitor fees are non-refundable unless Slow & Low: Chicago Lowrider Festival refuses entry. “No Shows” are eligible for one (1) ticket, accompanied by legal identification.

    LIABILITY: By signing this Application at the time of the event or by submitting an online application, the Exhibitor (“Entrant”) for and on behalf of themselves and their respective heirs, companies, partnerships, corporations, consultants, agents, advisors, fiduciaries, management personnel, executors, personal representatives, administrators, insurers, trustee, successors, assigns, switchmen and all owners and operators of the car, truck, van, bicycle and/or motorcycle (collectively, “Vehicle”) entered hereunder (collectively, the “Indemnifying Party”) agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Slow & Low: Chicago Lowrider Festival, Navy Pier Inc. and Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority and the Chicago Park District, Chicago Lowrider Festival, Chicago Urban Art Society, their Facilities, Agents, officers, board members, volunteers, employees, and the undersigned, its licensors, subsidiaries, affiliates, divisions and its and their respective present, former and future officers, directors, shareholders, board members, management personnel, consultants, advisors, predecessors, parents, representatives, servants, holding companies, employees, attorneys, agents, contractors, subcontractors, representatives, insurers, fiduciaries, successors and assigns including, but not limited to, Slow & Low: Chicago Lowrider Festival, Navy Pier Inc. and Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority and the Chicago Park District, Chicago Lowrider Festival, Chicago Urban Art Society, all event sponsors and owners and operators of the event facility (collective, the “Indemnified Party”) from and against any and all damages, claims, liabilities, judgments, fines, penalties, expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees and costs) and losses (collectively, “Claims”) arising out of or in connection with (a) a breach by the Indemnifying Party of any rule, regulation, requirement, term, warranty, covenant, representation or condition contained in this Application and (b) damage to tangible personal property, for personal injury and/or death proximately caused by the negligence or willful misconduct of the Indemnifying Party. The Indemnifying Party further agrees to accept any and all responsibility and liability for the risk of loss, damage, destruction, and injury (including death) to their person, the Vehicle displays, and all other personal property and related items belonging to them and/or which are in their care, custody, possession or control before, during and after the show and at this moment fully and voluntarily assumes all such risks and for good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, releases the Indemnified Party from any and all Claims arising out of or in connection in addition to that. Entrant further acknowledges, affirms, and represents that they have obtained any and all necessary consents, waivers, releases, and authorizations required to execute and enter into this Application on behalf of and bind each and every Indemnifying Party hereto. This Application and the Application (collectively “Application”) shall be governed by and interpreted by the laws of the State of Illinois, without reference to or Application of principles of choice of law. In any proceeding arising from or related to the enforcement and/or interpretation of this Application, the Indemnified Party as the prevailing party shall be entitled to recover its costs, which includes reasonable attorneys’ fees, against the non-prevailing party. No modification, alteration, waiver, or change in any of the terms of this Application shall be valid or binding upon the Indemnified Party unless made in writing and duly executed by the Indemnified Party from whom a waiver is sought. The provisions of this Application shall be severable. If any of them are held invalid or unenforceable, such provision shall be adjusted to the minimum extent necessary to cure such invalidity. The invalidity or unenforceability of one provision shall not affect any other.

    PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEO RELEASE: Slow & Low: Chicago Lowrider Festival, Navy Pier Inc. and Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority and the Chicago Park District, Chicago Lowrider Festival, Chicago Urban Art Society reserve the right to photograph, videotape, film and/or reproduce in any medium, the event, any Entrant/Exhibitor, person and/or Vehicle for any future use, at no compensation to Entrant/Exhibitor, the Indemnifying Party or any other third party, person or entity as Slow & Low: Chicago Lowrider Festival, Navy Pier Inc. and Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority and the Chicago Park District, Chicago Lowrider Festival, Chicago Urban Art Society shall have the absolute and unfettered right to use, sell, license and/or publish Entrant’s name, picture, biography and /or likeness in connection with being the owner and/or operator of the Vehicle along with all other content, images, materials, artwork, graphics, pictures, video, data or additional information of any kind concerning the event and/or Vehicle (collectively, “DATA”), all such DATA and rights to it being the sole and exclusive property of Slow & Low: Chicago Lowrider Festival, Navy Pier Inc. and Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority and the Chicago Park District, Chicago Lowrider Festival, Chicago Urban Art Society, and Entrant, for and on behalf of themselves and the Indemnifying Party, upon executing this Application, waives and surrenders any and all Claims against the Indemnified Party in connection in addition to that.

    SAFETY: All fire regulations must be followed to the letter or be subject to being banned from future events. Entrant acknowledges that they have received, reviewed, and agree to any and all rules, regulations, requirements, terms, warranties, covenants, representations, and conditions contained in this Application which is incorporated herein by reference.

    1. How early can I arrive on event day, Saturday, October 12th? ALL Exhibitors can enter Festival Hall at Navy Pier at 9:00 AM. Navy Pier Attendants will check that people are wearing their wristbands. 

    2. Can clubs be placed near each other in the Festival Hall? Yes. We highly recommend arriving as a group to ensure placement together.  However, we cannot guarantee holding space during the Load-In process. 

    3. When will I receive my admission wristbands? During your Load-In Day at Check-In. 

    4. What time does the event start and end? Doors open at 10:00 AM and close at 8:00 PM. 

    5. How long will it take to exit Festival Hall after the event ends? Anticipate up to 1.5 hours. 

    6. Can I bring outside alcohol? NO.  Upon arrival during Load-In, Navy Pier Attendants will inspect trunks and bags upon entry at the Festival Hall Entrance on event day. 

    7.  Can I smoke inside Festival Hall? NO.  Navy Pier Security will escort you out of the venue and may press charges. 

    8. Can I play music during the event? Please understand that the Slow&Low Organizers have an exciting list of performances and deejays scheduled to play throughout the event. You are allowed to play music from your vehicles or motorcycles. However, you cannot play music loudly.  Please do not disturb other Exhibitors or our performances by blasting music. Navy Pier Security reserves the right to ask you to lower the volume or turn off your music.  Navy Pier Security reserves the right to escort an Exhibitor off the premises until the event ends. 

    9. Can I install a tent near my vehicle? No. Navy Pier does not allow tent installation near your vehicle placement in Festival Hall.

    10. Can I buy event tickets online? Yes!  Buy Tickets Here! 

    11. Can I buy event tickets on the event day? Yes! Look for a Ticket Kiosk on the 1st floor. 

    12. Can I re-enter Festival Hall during the event? Yes. All attendees must go through security to re-enter Festival Hall.

    13. Does Navy Pier conduct security checks to enter Festival Hall? Yes. Navy Pier Security reserves the right to conduct bag and security wand checks.

    14. Will I receive a 2024 Exhibitor Dash Plaque? Yes, during Load-In Day at Check-In.

    15. Does Navy Pier provide parking for trailers? There is VERY LIMITED space for trailers (two-vehicle and one-vehicle haulers). We recommend sourcing trailer parking off-site. We are working with the Navy Pier Parking Garage to identify possible trailer parking options. Unfortunately, we are handling trailer inquiries on a case-by-case basis.
